United Membership
There is a club fee of $150. This affiliates you to United and entitles you to take part in lessons, club competitions and the use of club gear at the club. Fees are to be paid to the Treasurer by the third week of March. A special family group fee can be arranged. The introduction to fencing course costs $70 and will run for eight sessions, usually starting on the first Tuesday in March. This fee will count towards your club membership if you decide to join for the year. We will gradually extend the time and introduce individual lessons as your knowledge/ interest in fencing grows.
United has been introducing fencers to the sport for more than 50 years. Many of our fencers have won Canterbury, New Zealand senior, under 20 and school titles and all our fencers have enjoyed the sport and art of fencing. Parents often learn along with their children.

Full National Subscription
For a lot of competitions, you will need to be affiliated with both Fencing New Zealand and Fencing Mid South. There will be an item on the competition information if you need to be affiliated. You can do this here. You can be registered as a club member which allows you to compete in one regional competition per year, or if you are starting to fence more competitively, you can pay a $70 registration fee, which allows you to fence in all national competitions.
